How about that? Love comparisons like that, especially when they all fit together so nicely. Awesome ideas, also!
Thanks, Jeantie. You are so sweet!
Ouchies! If I was there, I would definetly do anything I could to help! Glad to hear though that it is in fact being taken care of in one way or another. I am absolutely praying for your house and its well-being. Know that you are always being tak...

Helpful reminder, Thanks!
Okay, okay. But you do add so much to the discussions. You're very smart and also sassy. A good combination. I'll get busy and begin leading...
Well, you're our grammar leader...your questions and answers are so full of spice that you have quite an audience. We miss you, but understand that you have to review books. Thanks for stopping by!
6.14.09 Hi, Judy! I know, I’m supposed to be writing reviews. But I can’t stay away. I’ve been looking in every day – at least once. But what’s happening? I don’t see anyone interested in grammar. Best regards, hal

Harold Cordry: try this:

Right click your mouse cursor on the image.
There'll be a dropdown file.
Click on Save As or Save Image As
A box appears, and on the left, you'll see a Desktop icon.
Click on that icon.
Near the bottom of the box, you'll see a filename, highlighted.
Put your mouse cursor there, and type in the word Professor.
At the top of the box, you'll see "Save In Desktop"
Go down and click OK button

Now the image named Professor is on your hard drive.

Time out for a coffee break or to listen to some good music.

Now go to your page on Webgrammar
Under Settings, choose Profile/Photo Profile
Click in existing photo.
You'll get a box that says "Upload a photo" and gives you a browse box.
Click in the box, and find the Professor image on your Desktop.
Click "Open"
Voila....

And now it may be time for a siesta. That's a lot to digest. I wish it were easier...and I'm sure one day it will be...

Hi,

There are 16,14,13. I've always been a stickler with English and Math. I'm trying to find ways to improve the two younger sons writing skills. They have great ideas and I need them to learn how to express them better on paper. You know, on run on sentences, unnecessary words, using the correct tense throughout the writing......

I'm trying to stress to them the importance of English today. If they can't communicate clearly and effectively throughout life they won't be productive.

I think it's working! Our youngest, 13, is now correcting his older brother's grammatically.

I tell them don't know all of the grammar rules or all of the correct usages of words, etc. But I try to be as correct as I can when speaking and communicating with others.

I tell them to use the internet or the MANY Language Arts textbooks and grammar books I have in the house when they get stuck on an idea or how to use a word correctly.

I just ask them to TRY there best! But they must try! And I'm the judge of determining if they are trying. Not there teachers! I say this because sometimes I feel 'some' teachers don't push them to be more responsible. I LOVE my school district and the teachers! I admire all teachers for their dedication! I'm just saying I'm their mother and I know when they haven't tried their best.

I'm soooooooo glad I stumbled on your site the other day. I'm anxious to use it and let my guys know about it too!

Thanks in advance for developing the site! It's something we all need in my opinion!

This from Adarsh, who continues to prepare for the GRE. Has anyone encountered "mugging up"?
"I am mugging up the word list." -- Adarsh, part of his response to my asking whether he had taken the exam yet.
I like it, but don't understand the allusion. [More on "allusion" later.] -- hvc

Hi! Yes, I did write a crossword puzzle book for some publisher who had a series of "everything" books. So mine was "Everything Crossword Puzzles and Word Games" (or the other way around). Did you look me up? I also wrote a reference book about tobacco, which sold pretty well. And two or three others, which I can't remember just now. My main interest is English usage. I'd intended to do one on usage.
